Returning to the States |
|||||
I spent about a week in Doolin. The only thing that gave me the determination to leave was the realization that I might not see anything else besides Doolin unless I got out. I hitched out of Doolin the way I came in and took a quick trip around the Ring of Kerry before making my way back to Dublin to catch the return ferry to England. After a quick last visit with my family in Manchester I was on the train for London and my flight back to the States. ![]() At The Cliffs of Moher County Clare, Ireland Looking back on it now, I wonder why I returned to the States at all. I was young and looking for adventure, why didn't I head to the Continent and find work for the winter? I had met several people who had offered to put me up and help me find work in some of the many countries that I had not yet visited. Thinking back to those days I am reminded that I was not yet at a place where I could just let myself drift with the wind, and I don't think I would have been ready to handle it. I really wanted to get back to New Hampshire and finish what I'd started there before I tried to move on. I left the road and headed back to UNH to figure myself out. |
