Andrew is Lone RHS State Qualifier
Andrew placed 16th at Saturday's District 2/4 Championships and will travel to Pasco with Coaches Collier and Lynch as a State Meet qualifier. Matt also ran well in the District meet but will have to wait until next year to qualify.
When the gun sounded to start the race, the rain came down in buckets potentially threatening the course surface. A dejected runner from Woodinville was seen walking back to the finish area wearing only one shoe . . . the other one was left somewhere on the course. Other runners were covered with mud and grass indicating the less-than-ideal conditions. No Seattle 4A team qualified for State this year and altogether only two Seattle 4A runners qualified. We look forward to next year when this trend will be reversed.

Mob Improves - Not Enough For KingCo
The XC Mob posted undeniable improvement at the KingCo championships for which all runners should be proud. (PRs in yellow and red.) There was no doubt after the meet that the league is much stronger this year with the additions of Skyline (Sammamish) and Issaquah. The Mob varsity missed qualifying for the District meet by a mere 9 points. Last year, the team experienced similar disappointment as they missed qualifying for State by just 6 points. Qualifying as individuals for the District meet, Andrew and Matt will move ahead and run at Lincoln Park on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1, .
The team scores on Thursday were:
Full varsity results can be found here.
Full team results can be found on the Athletic.net Mob Website.
As a comparision of how competetive the league was this year, Andrew's time of 16:15 would have placed him 4th at KingCo last year. This year it was good for 15th place.
Congratulations to the RHS seniors, too, as their high school careers come to a close.

The performances of Matt, Daniel, Ben, Izaac and Seth demonstrated that the Mob will return a strong core of runners next year. If the improvement shown this year is any indication, next year's team will mark its return to the District and, quite possibly, the State meets. Go Rider Mob!

All City Meet Recap
Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped out at yesterday's All-City 4A meet. It turned out to be a nice day (read: no rain) despite the cool temperatures. The boys' did very well with most of the team turning in their best performances of the season so far. There were 22 personal bests recorded for the 5K distance. Congratulations to each of the runners! It was a hard-fought contest.
For those keeping score at home, the Varsity score was, BHS-35, GHS-45, RHS-49. It was a close meet. No JV score was kept. Results are posted on the athletic.net site.
Also, there were a total of 156 boys and girls from the three schools who competed . . . a HUGE turnout.
