10/21/09 Message from Alden Garrett, CMAC President

Hello CMAC Families,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 season.  It is great to see so many returning families, and we extend a huge warm welcome to our new families.  Although there isn’t any snow in the mountains yet, preparations are well under way to start a new FUN ski racing year.  Our Juniors and J4 Training group will begin in November, our Sunday Mitey Mites will start in December and the Saturday Prep season begins early January.

This year CMAC will host five home races, weather permitting.  As you know it takes at least forty volunteers for each race so I want to thank those of you who have already signed up to volunteer, and encourage the rest of you to do so soon.  If you are interested in becoming a ski racing official which is really fun and educational, there will be a training on Nov.  15, 2009.  We especially need people to learn the timing system.

As always, we want this season to be fun for all our racers, and to that end emphasize respect for all teammates and the entire mountain community.  We encourage teamwork and support and need our parents to reinforce that ethic.   For parents, please feel free to communicate with us if you have questions or concerns as the year goes forward.  We really want to make your and your child’s experience with CMAC a great one.

Now, let’s get those edges sharpened!!!

CMAC Philosophy
CMAC's philosophy is to provide a program that is fun and enjoyable for all participants while developing strong skiing skills learned through structured training and direted free skiing using the entire mountain. This creates strong ski racers and excellent skiers with a deep love of the sport. The CMAC philosophy not only develops successful ski racers, but life long skiers in a true life long sport. This philosophy also develops life skills that transcend sports.
