This applet uses the JDK 1.1 event model and just dumps all the normal AWT events in hideous little panes. If the space below this line remains blank for more than about 10 seconds, either Java is off, or you should check the Java console window in your browser to see if there are exceptions. A model of utilitarian design (i.e., ugly), but it works if you want to see what's going on behind your back in JDK 1.1. If you want something similar to but not exactly like this applet, grab the source and hack away.
The odds of this working increase substantially if you enable Java.
