Poetry in the Dark
And in my journey to God
I found a flower in the path
Blossoming in Light

And on the flower
     I saw a bee, a honey bee
Suckling from Light

And in the bee
     I found God
                    Light

The path I tread in ink
     Bleak or merely black
I cannot tell

The light I seek from Night
     Illumination or Hallucination
I cannot tell

The dream I know in sleep
     Fears or Visions
I hope to tell

And if I had eternity
To give names to all the stars
I would reach inside my soul
And name them all for you

And should they ask me why I breathe
     But stop sometimes in shock
I would reach inside my heart
And blame it all on you

And should they seek to seal my fate
     But seal it without you
I would reach inside my mind
And will my fate to you

And should I lie upon my pyre
     About to burn in death
I would reach inside my life
     And live inside of you

I saw you resting in the cradle moon
The night sky hummed lullabies
While I dreamt
I plucked a bouquet of stars
To fill your vase of hope

I watched you sleep in the dewy grass
The burdens of an earth evaporated
While I dreamt
I planted a garden of spells
To cast your life in love

I heard you breathe the teeming cosmos
Goddess dust renewed your lungs
While I dreamt
I reaped a basket of prayers
To strew your path with faith

I touched your flowing dreams
The energy of the universe poured through us
While I dreamt
In sleepy flights I carried you home
And laid you in a bed of joy

I fear change

Let me stay in this moment forever
Only me, and you
Versus the World
Even in sweat, and toil

Youth and Age, excitement and caution
Over those that tell us we'll fail
Underneath it all, there is God
