Why does coaching work?

Coaching works because it increases your awareness of your situation and gives you an opportunity to work on it with professional guidance. You examine options, make choices, and take responsibility to carry out your own personal action plan. Coaching brings out your best!

Coaching is a venue for you to discover and realize your dreams and goals. Having a regular appointed time to check in, recharge, and focus on your objectives motivates and fosters achievement of those objectives.

Why does someone who is already doing great use a coach?

What goes on during a coaching session?

You are the focus. The coach listens. Examination of your situation and options takes place during a pre-determined confidential one-half hour telephone coaching session. You have an opportunity to examine situations that are hampering your ability to move forward with the intent of ultimately moving forward. Acknowledgment of you and encouragement of your abilities occurs. Challenges to stretch beyond your self-imposed limits are made. Requests for thoughtful inquiry and homework are made of you. You will be supported in your decisions and your actions to carry out your goals.

What about location?

It doesn't matter where you live or work. Coaching sessions are normally conducted over the telephone at pre-arranged times.

Is coaching therapy?

No. Coaching is not therapy or counseling. Coaching focuses on identifying your target objectives and then developing strategic actions to move you towards reaching your goals. Coaches do not make diagnoses and coaching does not get into a client's past and work on "issues."
