- How many ways can I reorder the letters in the word "SAFE"? [24]
- What is one third of one third of one fourth? [1/24]
- Multiply 2/7 by 1/2 [1/7]
- Start with 9, add 9, then divide by 6 [3]
- An isosceles triangle has one angle of 100 degrees. What are each of the other 2 angles? [40 degrees]
- (25 min) Hand out the "Olympiad common problem types" handout. Carefully go through each of the 8 problems in that handout, explaining how to solve them. The students should work all 8 problems on that handout. Make sure everyone understands each problem type and how to solve them. This handout constitutes the in-class exercise.
