03 April 2003: "Da svidanja"

Regular readers may have noticed I dropped the link to Russian WarBlog off the sidebar; I had my reasons for doing so, and while I'd considered publicising them, I decided against it. Well, that decision has evidently been taken out of my hands. Charming.

Well, under the circumstances, I may as well illuminate my decision. It basically started when someone IRL asked me "Why do you even have this 'Russian WarBlog' thing linked?"
My response was "Because the guy who runs it asked if I would."
The response to this was "Ah, okay. I couldn't imagine you thought it was any good."

That comment rather planted the seed of doubt as to whether there was much point maintaining the link, and after some consideration (which involved seeing if anything worth reading popped up on the RWB), I decided to take down the link. I sent an e-mail to Yaroslav informing him of this, and my reasons for doing so. That e-mail is what you will find if you follow that link.

On the bright side, though, Yaroslav's Livejournal post is getting me more referrals than the link from his WarBlog ever did.
