03 September 2003: "We're up and running"
I wrote an entry on collaborative blogging almost two months ago. I remarked at the time that Scott Martens might have to revise his opinion about getting involved in a collaborative blog himself. The reason I said this was because David "Europundit" Weman had just started recruiting contributors for just such a blog; I knew this because he had approached me, and I had accepted. After some brainstorming on title and format, that blog has finally been unleashed. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you A Fistful of Euros.
Sharing a "broadly pro-Europe" perspective, we'll be dealing with any and all matters European which strike our fancy, "from NATO to UEFA, the EU to Eurovision" (as fellow contributor Nick Barlow put it); we've got a Swede, three Brits, a German, a Canadian living in Belgium and a Dutchman living in the US (moi). It should be fun. (Of course, now it's up, I have to actually write something...) That said, this is essentially a side project; we're all keeping our own blogs, not in the least place because there's lots of stuff that doesn't pertain directly to Europe.
