Ferrety Beastlets - Oct 2003

For some reason, they have super-glowy eyes in these photos. I guess it's because Halloween is on its way.

This is Farah! The one who used to bite! He now spends a lot of time begging for treats and he tolerates cuddling very well. And he's super soft and lovely, so I can't resist him at all. Look at his wee face!
I'm just so delighted that he is happier now and has other ways to communicate, so he doesn't seem to need to bite to get his point across, although he did once this year, in a disagreement with my brother about luggage. But Farah does feel especially stronly about luggage, it has to be said. It's an emotional subject with him.
Here, Farah and I both have our eyes closed, but he's the only one sticking out his tongue (just a tiny bit, licking his nose). For some reason I like the photo anyway. You can see the remnants of a henna tattoo on my hand, there.
Ameena! Her eyes glow red instead of green. Hm. So tiny and fluffy and cute. And she's more interested in Jurjen than in me, so she's looking at the camera (that he's holding).
Ameena again. Now trying to move towards Jurjen (and hence, the camera).
Jurjen and Ameena. She's calmer now that he's got her.
Ooh. Nice picture of Jurjen! And Ameena looks smug. Yes, I own him, she thinks. Contented shmacking.
Carnegie, the big lovable doofus. Friendly and outgoing. That is why we named him Carnegie - he can win friends and influence people, etc. Glad to see that the name still suits him, two years on.
Carnegie has found something tasty on my fingers. I think I had given Farah a treat and spilled some.
Vasilissa, looking alert like the SWAT team operative that she is. She can swarm up outside of the 4-foot cage in a flash, and she drops herself over the side tail-first and rappels down, using her claws to slow her descent.
Here, Vasilissa is vogueing, showing her elegant side. The Mata Hari of ferrets. She has such a great little face.
And now Vasilissa is sniffing at my neck, which tickles like the dickens.
Ameena here is "speed-bumping," or doing the "Formula 1 Racing Ferret." They occasionally take a quick break and park like this for a moment, especially when they want to rest but don't want to miss out on anything interesting.
Still down, but looking at Jurjen with the camera anyway.
