When I graduated from Evergreen in 1997, I carried her with me. People did kooky things like that all the time at Evergreen, and nobody batted an eye. She's pretty young here.

This is when we were living in Bellevue, so around 1998 or so.

When I moved to Europe for three years, I couldn't bring her along. Yzzy lived with friends of mine, first with Val (thanks Val!); I visited in 2000. Here she is snuffling at the camera. When you try to photograph ferrets, you get a lot of this kind of shot.

Val had to move and couldn't keep Yzzy, and fortunately my friend Gail was able to take her (thanks, Gail!). Here I'm visiting in 2001 at Gail's, and I'm all excited because I missed Yzzy, and she's just thinking, "Oh, brother."

When we found out she had insulinoma, we took a few photos. You can tell we were pretty worried, not smiling much.
|
|
Jurjen liked her a lot. She was great company, pottering around the house.

|
Well, I'm smiling a little. We got used to dealing with the insulinoma, and we were hoping to have a couple more years with her, but it ended up just being a few months.

Aah, nice ear rub. She looks like she's enjoying that. Everybody, go hug your animals. And goodbye, sweet and obstreperous little Ysabella.
