On Lake Washington There grow lilies by the ton Blooming in the sun. |
Blue sky frames sunlight, It makes the white flowers bright. So pretty a sight! |
Bringing tears to eyes, In the shade, soft lovers sighs Echo the bird cries. |
Ripples on the waves, The blossoms ignore these knaves Despite the winds' craves. |
Butterflies do flit. Dancers of the air soon quit. On petals they sit. |
Daily light warming, Flowers find it nourishing, Their buds flourishing. |
Lilies in my heart, Gathered by thousands in one part. The sun was yours from the start. |
When seen three by nine, Shall lovers be bound in rhyme. Ever am I thine. |
