On Lake Washington
There grow lilies by the ton
Blooming in the sun.
Blue sky frames sunlight,
It makes the white flowers bright.
So pretty a sight!
Bringing tears to eyes,
In the shade, soft lovers sighs
Echo the bird cries.
Ripples on the waves,
The blossoms ignore these knaves
Despite the winds' craves.
Butterflies do flit.
Dancers of the air soon quit.
On petals they sit.
Daily light warming,
Flowers find it nourishing,
Their buds flourishing.
Lilies in my heart,
Gathered by thousands in one part.
The sun was yours from the start.
When seen three by nine,
Shall lovers be bound in rhyme.
Ever am I thine.
