Spanish Basque Beret Imports
Thank you for your purchase of this top quality Spanish Basque Beret. The berets
I sell are hand made by one of the last beret makers in the Basque region. This
150+ year old family run business selects only the best wools, weaves the fabric
themselves, and hand finishes each beret. I hope you enjoy your new beret!
No Returns Once Beret is Tried On
Please make sure the outer diameter is correct before placing the beret on your
head. I’m just one guy doing this as a hobby and receiving exchange requests
for berets that have been tried on are a problem for me. I cannot accept returns
once the beret has been stretched to fit. If this beret is too small or too
big and want an exchange please be sure to include the plastic sleeve as well.
So, once you have decided you the outer diameter is correct for you you will
most likely need to stretch the headband to fit your head shape.
To size your new beret:
Sit down
Place beret upside down on your lap
Grip the beret’s headband with both hands.
Gripping the headband with one hand gently but firmly pull your other hand away
from the gripping hand, dragging it along the headband. You don’t want
to grip so hard that you rip the fabric but you might feel some heat from the
friction of your grip.
Rotate the beret a 1/4 turn and repeat, trying the beret on every few pulls.
This process, depending on your head size, may take a few a few minutes to ‘work’
the fabric to your size.
If you follow these simple instructions you shouldn’t have any problem
stretching the headband to fit. Don’t pull with foot and hand, or simply
hands opposite each other, you really need to pull, or stretch the fabric fibers
using the technique described above. Once stretch the beret stays that size
quite well.
P.S. I would love it if you would send me a photo of you in your new beret.
I will add it to my “beret buyers” page. You can send images to:
