19 Day Old Moon - 8/27/2002

Aug 27, 2002 10:58-1203 UTC - Thanks to the magic of image processing software, I was able to salvage this image of the moon. I made the mistake of not using my dew shield (one of those sleep deprived decisions) and got hit by the dew monster halfway through the shoot. I like the result, but I will not make that mistake again.

The image was created by stitching together 45 images using Paintshop Pro 7.04. Each image was created by capturing AVIs with a Philips Vesta 690k and using K3CCDTools. I preprocessed each image using Registax, stacking up to 50 frames. The telescope used was a Meade LX-90 (8" SCT, f/10).
